M Abdullah Jehad

PhD Candidate

Mr. Jehad joined the Rizvi laboratory as a PhD student in 2022. He is working towards elucidating the molecular mechanism(s) which allows specific selection of retroviral genomic RNA (gRNA) by structural as well as enzymatic proteins. Part of his thesis work has recently been published in a leading journal (Jehad et al., FEMS Microbiology Reviews, 2025). Mr. Jehad completed his BS in Biochemistry (2018) and MS in Biochemistry (2020), both from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), India. His master’s thesis was entitled, “Study of the Differential Damage in Organ (Liver) of Individual Rats Caused by Alloxan Induced Diabetes Mellitus”.
