Arshida Ashraf

PhD Candidate

Ms. Ashraf is working on elucidating the molecular mechanism(s) which allow specific selection of retroviral genomic RNA (gRNA) by the Gag protein, determining whether Gag-Pol and/or Gag-Pro-Pol precursors play any role in gRNA packaging, and if so, delineate the mechanism(s) involved.

Ms. Asharaf secured her bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology (2015) from SRM University, India.  She took her masters in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from United Arab Emirates University (2019).
